As a family we try to eat as healthily as possible and although both Mario and I have lost weight over the last few months, we are always looking for even more ways to keep eating healthily and where we can make changes. My snacking can be quite bad sometimes as I love chocolate (who doesn’t!) and so most of my snacks in the day tend to be a bit of choccy which I know isn’t ideal! When I saw that Nim’s were looking for people to try out their fruit crisps as an alternative daily snack, I put us forward to try them out!
Nim’s fruit crisps were launched in 2012 by Nimisha Raja (an entrepreneurial café owner and mum) with the main aim to fill the snacking industry’s lack of healthy snacks that didn’t compromise on taste or quality. So the fruit and vegetable crisps were created! Each pack is filled with 100% natural air-dried snacks which are free from additives and preservatives while retaining most of their nutritional goodness and great natural taste. They have created the UK’s first air-dried vegetable snacks! In order to maintain as much goodness as possible, the fruit is sliced with skin and pips intact before air-drying right here in Britain.
The fruit crisps are available in 5 flavours; Apple, Pineapple and Kiwi, Orange and Melon, Pineapple, and Pear. While there are 3 vegetable crisp flavours; Tomato and Cucumber, Pepper and Courgette, and Beetroot and Parsnip. Each flavour is high in fibre and vitamin C and the fact the contents has the texture of crisps, makes them extra special! Each pack counts as one of your 5 a day so you can be assured you are getting your required daily allowance and the entire range is gluten-free and suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and coeliac sufferers.
The fruit and vegetable crisps are the perfect snack to grab-on-the-go; stick in your handbag or to take to work! At 55-75 calories a bag they are a great healthy snack for all the family. Our favourites were definitely the fruit crisps and in each bite, the fresh fruit flavour certainly comes through! They feel like crisps in texture and smell amazing! When you bite into them, they have a nice crunch and the flavours are lovely. My favourite was the Orange and Melon and Mia really enjoyed the Apple flavours. The vegetable crisps took a bit of getting used to for us however they will appeal to anyone who prefers savoury foods over sweeter ones. At £1.25 a bag, they are really high quality snacks that are perfect for picnics, sat in the office, or when you’re out and about, these ready-to-eat snacks are bursting with flavour!
