Bathrooms come in all shapes and sizes, but sometimes they are on the smaller side. We still need to find space to store all of our belongings, however, which means being a tad creative with our storage solutions.

Our guide will offer valuable insight into how you can make smart use of every inch in your bathroom, from installing shelving to putting up hooks and hangers and investing in cabinetry.

Mirrored cabinets

Mirrors are a must in every bathroom, allowing you to carry out your morning routine each day. Not only this but they help to reflect light, creating the illusion of a larger space. Go a step further than this and opt for illuminated cabinets that improve both your lighting and allow you to store your toiletries.

The best place to install cabinetry is above your wash basin, since this will offer easy access to your belongings and ensures any doors can open fully.

Under-the-sink cupboards

Having a cupboard located under the sink is beneficial for numerous reasons. Firstly, they help to conceal unsightly plumbing, but they also create adequate storage space without sacrificing much of the room. This solution, alongside cabinetry, maximises the amount of toiletries and cosmetic products that can be kept in the bathroom while not being visible.

Under-the-sink cupboards are particularly useful for small bathrooms since they don’t make the room feel any smaller than it already is.

Floating shelves

If you have blank walls in your bathroom, make good use of them and install some floating shelves. These are best situated above areas like the toilet but you can also include them in the shower too. Shelves are the perfect solution for storing towels, accessories, and ornaments.

You might even choose to put shelves in the corner of your bathroom, which take up even less room. Do you consider yourself a DIY expert? How about constructing your own shelves from bamboo wood, plastic, or another water-resistant material?

Adhesive hooks

If you want to avoid drilling into your bathroom’s walls and damaging the waterproofing, adhesive hooks are the way to go. They also don’t require any special skills or tools, meaning anyone can install and remove them easily.

You could add some behind the doors of your vanity cabinet to store hair tools or behind the bathroom door to hang towels and dressing gowns. Opt for high-quality self-adhesive hooks that can create a strong and durable hold on a variety of surfaces.
