We all aspire to have a house that is both joyful and healthy. However, we might occasionally become overwhelmed by the stress of everyday life and work obligations, and the house will start to be neglected. Things can build up and jobs don’t get done which can not only affect your house but also your health. Start making some simple improvements at home with these quick and simple recommendations.
Organise And Clear Out the Mess
Getting rid of all the clutter is one method to make your house feel more structured. Many of us receive new gifts and items over the Christmas season, particularly if we have kids who will receive an abundance of new toys. You should ensure that you have enough room to accommodate all of these new items. It can be intimidating and seem impossible to find a place for them all amidst all of your other clutter. Reducing the amount of clutter in your home can help improve your mental health. This can be achieved by decluttering toys, clothing, and shoes. Every season, it’s crucial to spend some time looking through everything and give anything that is no longer worn or utilised to someone who will benefit from it because kids outgrow their shoes and clothes so quickly. You could just work on one component per week until everything is finished, so it doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking.
Get Rid Of Dust As Much As Possible
Dust gets everywhere and while it is impossible to get rid of it completely there are ways we can reduce it in the home and make it a healthier place to live. One of the biggest spaces where dust hides is in the carpet. So to combat this you could look at finding a laminate flooring supplier to have laminate flooring in your home which will give you an easier floor to clean. You can also invest in an air purifier, these are a great addition to your home, especially if you suffer from allergies or asthma. They help clean the air and get rid of all the pollen and dust in the air. You can even get air purifying plants which can contribute towards better air in your home as well.
Deep Cleaning Regularly
A lot of people call it a ‘Sunday Reset’ but realistically you can do it any day in the week that suits you. Taking a couple of hours each week to deep clean your home will make a world of difference. You can change which area you focus on each week. In the kitchen, you could do on top of the cabinets, the fridge and freezer and clean the oven, and appliances. When you do the bedrooms be sure to move furniture and vacuum under the bed where dust will hide. You can also vacuum the mattresses to help make the room feel cleaner. When you get into winter be sure to be on the lookout for black mould as well as it can grow very quickly.
