This is a collaborative post

Moving home can be an absolute pain in the behind if you let it get to this point. We say let it get to this point because moving without the drama is all about organisation and knowing what you need to do, when you need to do it, and generally being well put together. Even though it can be tough to get yourself in this position, you have to do your best if you don’t want to spend the next few months stressing about moving day. Luckily for you, we’re about to take a look at some of the things that you can do to save yourself the stress, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.

Come Up With A Plan Of Action

First thing on the list is coming up with a plan of action. As we said, you need to know where, when, who, what, and how. The more information you’ve got, the easier it is to come up with a plan so it’s important that you get started with this as soon as possible. Think about what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, who is going to help you with it, and how it’s all going to happen.

If you stick to this plan that you are setting, you should have very minimal issues throughout the moving process. Now, we know that things can crop up and put dents in your plans, but you just have to try and work your way through these when they do happen, but cross your fingers that they won’t

Start Doing As Much In Advance As You Can

The more that you can do in advance, the less panicking you have to do as the moving day approaches. For example, anything that won’t be needed for the next few months can be boxed up and put away so that it’s one thing that is sorted. If you pick a room to store these packed boxes in so that they are not cluttering up the entire hallway, this will help you to get ahead without having to cause more hassle in your home.

Go through your home room by room and think about what can be boxed up. If there’s more than can be sorted now than anticipated, you might be best getting a storage unit short-term to store these items in. Pro tip – get one close to the new property if you can.

Hire The Correct Professionals

You also need to make sure that you are hiring the correct professionals to help you move. You don’t want to be doing this all on your own and if you’re anything like us then asking your friends and family makes you feel like a burden. So, to avoid disappointment you need to be booking your services in advance otherwise you could miss out. You could look into a company that offers house removals which means they do pretty much everything for you from packing all your boxes into their vehicle, to unpacking them into your home.

We also recommend a cleaner at the very least, but there are more services you will find helpful.
