Sudocrem is one of the leading brands of baby care products and that’s one of the reasons I have always used their nappy cream. However I had yet to try any of the Care & Protect range as we have a massive tub of the original left and as Mia and Lottie are getting a bit older, they rarely have need for nappy rash cream anymore.
The Care & Protect range boasts a triple care system; it conditions skin, forms a protective barrier, and it guards against infection. The thing I really like is that it can be used at every nappy change, something we have always done for the girls but found that previous products designed specifically for nappy rashes can be of quite a thick consistency and so not particularly suitable for everyday use. As Mia got older, we found the products were more difficult to apply and actually get on her bottom, instead of all over the mat and her clothes!
I tested the Sudocrem Care & Protect range for over a week, it is a lovely soft cream that spreads easily and blends quickly. It’s so easy to apply which is very important when you have a wriggly toddler who isn’t keen on lying on a mat for more than 2 minutes! Normally, there’s cream everywhere but on Lottie’s actual bottom! I could tell Lottie preferred the new cream as firstly, she actually let me apply it and secondly, she asked for it every time I changed her pull-ups, which is very rare! Just a small amount is required cover a little bottom. Mia has quite sensitive skin on her bottom so using the Care & Protect range on her when she’s needed it, has definitely helped the rashes she can sometimes get.
On initial opening of the tube, the smell is not as overpowering as I have found the Sudocrem original products to be, the cream smells really nice. The tube itself is made of soft plastic with rounded corners so there’s no chance of any sharp edges to catch little fingers. The tube also has practical one –handed opening which is great when you have a little wriggler! The tube is small enough to pop in the changing bag or even in your handbag. We have used the Care & Protect cream for over a week now and I would say there is plenty left for the next 2 weeks, which means that at an average price of £4 its great value!
The only thing I would say is that if you are a stickler for reading instructions, I personally found the light purple text a bit hard to read in certain lights and so I would prefer a slightly darker text, that’s just my preference though!
All in all, I really liked the Sudocrem Care & Protect cream. I can use it at every nappy change; it’s lovely and soft, easy to apply and protects sensitive skin. I didn’t know that the Sudocrem’s care & protect cream range included a sun cream mousse so I will definitely be trying that next! You can find more information including where to buy the range at Sudocrem.
Have you tried the Sudocrem’s care & protect cream yet?

This sounds really good, I didn’t even know about it, I’ve been using the thick stuff that’s hard to wipe off my clothes. I don’t mind the smell of it, but it is overpowering. I think I’ll give this a try because it sounds really nice. Sometimes I put it on my own cracked skin where I have eczema on my hands.
Thanks for joining #RVHT I hope to see you again tonight!

Oh yeah I can’t stand the original Sudocrem as like you say, its so thick and gets everywhere! I use this care and protect when I have cracked hands 🙂
Mummy and Monkeys
I prefer this one to the original sudocream, it’s much more moisturising. Thanks for linking to #PickNMix

Me too! I dislike how the original sudocrem wont wash off anything! At least this one wipes off! 🙂

I’d never heard of Sudocream before reading this post! My monkey is almost 5 so we’re a bit past the diaper stage (thank goodness) but this looks like an amazing product. #KCACOLS

Great review! I used sudocrem all the time when Leo was little and it worked perfectly. I like the idea of having it in a tube though, sounds much easier to use and more portable than those big ol tubs. Glad to hear it has helped with Mia’s nappy rash.
Thank you for linking this up to #KCACOLS. Hope to see you again next week xx
