Wollaton Hall

It’s probably most known now for being home to Batman but it’s a Grade one listed Elizabethan mansion set in 500 acres of land. With guided tours inside the Hall itself (for an extra charge), there is also loads to do for free! With a large playground, live roaming deer and a big lake to walk around, it’s the perfect place for a walk and a picnic! Car parking is £3 for 3 hours so plenty of time to take in the fresh air!

Rufford Country Park

It’s one of our favourite places to go and each half term they have a different children’s trail to get them out in the fresh air and getting some exercise! This half term they are holding their magical Fairy Trail which is really fun to do. Sheets cost £1 but you can easily do the trail without although there is usually a prize at the end! Parking is £5 so not the cheapest but you can get a whole afternoons fun here doing the trail and walking round the lake.

Greens Windmill

This is iconic on the landscape of Nottingham city centre. It’s a restored 19th century tower mill which has been turning again since 1986. Always lots of things on in the school holidays in the interactive Science Centre! Free entry and free parking is available nearby.

Stonebridge City Farm

This is another great city centre attraction. With free entry (voluntary contribution appreciated) this lovely little farm is perfect for an afternoon out! There is also a lovely café with food created and sourced from their own farm or locally. Mia loves the animal handling here! Small free car park but plenty of parking on street outside (small charges apply).

Libraries

These are often overlooked as a fun place to hang out at half term but there are always really cool activities going on and the school hols are no different! This half term St Anns Valley Library have a Science Fun Day planned with lots of hands-on activities for your little ones to have a go at!
