We have been working with Boolino Books for a while now as a Boolino Friend and have had the opportunity to review some lovely books previously such as Goodnight World and Woodland Hedgehugs. We were sent a preview of a brand new Giant Family Adventure book set to be launched later that month and I don’t know about you but that makes it an even more exciting package to unwrap!
Fum is the exciting adventure story about a giant family who realise that the smallest Crumb, Fum, is missing! Written for 3-6 year olds, the story takes us on a journey through various classic fairy tales whilst the family search high and low for Fum. Each page contains characters from well-known fairy tales; 3 little pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and children will recognise these characters as the story plays out.
Written by Karl Newson and illustrated by Lucy Fleming, the lyrical rhyming verse helps keep children engaged and creates a lovely flow to the story. These types of stories are by far Mia’s favourite and usual end in giggles at the end! There are lots going on, on each page with colourful and eye-catching illustrations, we are still spotting new things after a few read-throughs! It isn’t until you reach the end of the story that you realise Fum has been hiding on each page so that sent us straight back to the beginning to read through again so Mia could spot where he was hiding!
Fum is a really fun, interactive story that is filled with adventure, laughs and well-known fairy tale characters. Available for £6.99 it should be on every child’s books wish list! We really enjoyed reading this story and Mia loved the fact she recognised the characters all the way through. She couldn’t believe they were in the story and when she realised Fum was hiding on every page, she was really excited to see if she could spot him!
