Interior design isn’t everyone’s strong suit, and that’s totally fine. We can’t be good at everything, but that doesn’t mean your home should go without! You deserve a living space you can be proud of, and there’s no better place to get inspiration for decorating than other people’s design choices. When it comes to the bedroom, it can be hard to know where to start. Aside from beds, what else is it missing? Well, there’s quite a lot that would make your bedroom a cosier place, but it depends on what feel you’re aiming to achieve.
A big rug
If there’s one thing that every bedroom with a hardwood floor should have, it’s a nice big rug. Waking up in the morning, and stepping out onto the cold wood floor isn’t a great feeling, and it can even put you off of getting up straight away. Both for the sake of your comfort and your productivity, you should make sure your bed is surrounded by a big, warm rug! It looks great, and it’s a welcome greeting to your feet first thing in the morning. Of course, you wouldn’t need it if you had a carpeted floor, but this kind of thing can make a world of difference.
More mirrors
Every bedroom needs a mirror in their bedroom, it’s the first place you’re going to catch a look at your reflection. However, it’s not just about seeing yourself – it’s about bringing more light into your room. Natural light can help you get a great start to your day, and keeping more reflective surfaces near your windows can help to bounce the light around more easily – making your room so much brighter in the morning as soon as you pull the curtains aside. If you’re looking for a great start to the day, this can help you achieve that!
House plants
Plants can help to bring more life into any room that you keep them in, and while they create a little work for you – they’re more than worth it. They’re colourful, they’re beautiful, and they can help your room to feel much more fresh. Of course, you should make sure you’ve got enough natural light coming in, and that you’ve got the space for them – but they can make a great addition to any room, not just the bedroom. Plants come in all shapes and sizes, too, so they’re perfect for any room no matter the size.
Hang up some art
While plants are great to look at, they don’t do much in the way of expression. Hanging up art not only provides something nice for you to look at when you’re in the room, but it’s a great way to display something that reflects your interests. Art can come in many different forms, and putting up a painting of something you feel strongly about can boost your mood whenever you’re in the room. The bedroom is a great place to be reminded of the things you enjoy or are passionate about!
