Many of you will be hoping to set off on holiday in the next few months (hopefully!). If you’re anything like me, it will be quite a stressful time. Not only are you dealing with all of the usual things with the kids, but you are also away from home, possibly in another country, managing hot sweaty children while being hot and sweaty yourself! The last thing on your mind are your own summer fashion essentials!
We usually go away at Feb half term when the weather is ok but still a bit chilly! I used to enjoy great holidays in the UK when I was little so I’m really looking forward to making some more amazing memories with Mia and Lottie! Even though we aren’t going on a ‘hot’ holiday this year, I have still been looking at Summer wear so here are some of my top finds for those of you who maybe like me, have little ones and just the word bikinis fills you with dread!
Summer Fashion Essentials
Swimwear
So, Swimwear. Let’s face it, when you’ve had a baby, the last thing you want to be wearing is something that shows off your stomach. I’m quite proud of mine and the fact I have had 2 children, but my tummy is still a little wobbly post-birth, so I recommend going for a tummy control swimsuit. Hide the wobbly bits and flaunt the busty bits!
Hats
I have never liked them. I’m not really sure why. They have just never really suited me however in the Summer heat the last thing you want to do is sit on the beach with your head exposed so go for a large, wide brim hat (a bit Audrey Hepburn style) to keep the sun off!
Sunglasses
Another accessory I have never got on with, even when driving! I have a few pairs lying around but I really don’t like them! I never know what style suits me or what shape of frames I should be choosing but this year I will be investing in some aviator style sunglasses as they look really cool and are definitely ‘in’.
Sarong
A great way to cover up on the beach when you’re not hugely body confident is by wearing a sarong. These wrap arounds provide the coverage that you may want as well as keeping you cool and pool-ready at a moment’s notice!
Dress
The last item of clothing that is really useful when on holiday is a pretty dress. Maxi dresses are great to cover (very) pale legs and are knee length to keep you cool and covered in the heat while checking out the nearby shops or grabbing some food.
Jewellery
Now we have to talk about jewellery! Wearing the right piece can really brighten up and finish off any kind of outfit! Daily I wear a necklace Mario bought me the weekend we got engaged, my engagement ring and then my Fitbit but I do love a beautiful piece of extra jewellery when I go out, whether that’s another ring, a long necklace or some earrings.
I recently teamed up with Daisy Jewellery, a beautiful online jewellery store based in London. They are ethical and eco-conscious, something that we are trying to be more of at the moment! Each piece is designed to last, and they use recycled 925 sterling silver, with high quality gold plating on gold styles. When I first saw the website and the jewellery they offer, I have to say I was so pleased! I literally love everything!
After a while I narrowed down my choice to the following:
English Daisy Rope Ring (£45) – This 925 sterling silver ring is absolutely stunning! A very pretty petite ring, it definitely grabs attention! This is perfect for nights out and it’s so pretty!
Daisy Crown Band Ring 18ct Gold Plate (£89) – A gold plated ring, this is also one of the prettiest rings I have seen in a while! With intricate flowers all the way round, this band is perfect for everyday wear.
I’am 100% sure that you will find something you love! I was so impressed with the selection of beautiful rings, I’m now looking at purchasing a necklace and some earrings to match my rings!
So, I hope my little selection of Summer Fashion Essentials gives you some inspiration as to what to pack for you summer trip this year!
