Stay-at-home parenting is a tough gig, you have the kids to look after all day and the house to run. It’s no wonder some stay-at-home parents wish they were back at their much easier full-time job. But just because your working hard at home doesn’t mean you have to miss out on wholesome lifestyle changes.

Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Whether you are working at home or raising a family at home you need to have little rituals to separate parts of the day, one of those might be a drink in the evening when you clock off or put the kids to bed for the night.

The trouble is that alcohol carries a lot of calories and after a while, you might start to see and feel its effects, but non-alcoholic drinks give you that same ritual without the calories or the headache.

Meat-Free Foods

If you’re a stay-at-home parent you’re probably interested in the health of your family and their welfare in the future. These are two good reasons to switch to meat-free meals this year without losing any of the delicious flavors of the meat.

There may not be a great deal of difference on the calories side but meat-free products do tend to be slightly lower. The main advantage is for the welfare of the planet since 70% of agricultural greenhouse gases come from methane emitting cattle.

Vape Smoking

Every parent needs a little break from time to time, and what better way than to stand outside on the porch or balcony and have a cigarette. The trouble is they have around 7000 chemicals, many of them carcinogenic, so you might run into long-term health problems.

A viable alternative is a vape. A vape is a smoking device that uses liquid cartridges instead of tobacco. You can choose to have nicotine or not. Vape still has chemicals but far fewer than tobacco and they are less harmful. You will need geekvape coils to smoke one.

Juicing for Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – or so they say – so what do you choose to feed yourself and your family? Is it cereal with milk, toast, and jam, or cooked breakfast with the works? These are fine but there are some healthier alternatives.

Juicing is one of the best, most progressive, breakfasts for families. Why? Because it gives you and your family all the vitamins and nutrients you need in your diet all in one go. If your family doesn’t go for it, it will give you more energy.

Tea Fasting

Have you tried every diet under the sun, or maybe you haven’t yet found the right one for you? But have you tried fasting yet? Fasting is a natural way for your body to burn calories and slim up. The only trouble is it might get boring.

In the evening after you’ve put your kids to bed it’s a good time to fast for a few hours before hitting the pillow yourself. Instead of beer or wine, however, drink zero-alcohol herbal tea instead – your body will thank you for it.
