Mia’s growing with the Joie Elevate Car Seat!

Mia is a tall 4 year old and over the last few months we have become increasingly aware of the fact that she is just about to grow out of her current car seat. After all of the issues we had trying to purchase a car seat for her when she was just out of her baby seat, we were not looking forward to trying to find a suitable one! Last week I wrote about Kiddies Kingdom who have their launch event on Saturday 30th July and as part of their event, we were sent a brand new car seat for Mia to try out. The car seat we were…

Head Over to The Kiddies Kingdom Showroom Launch Event!

When Mia was born just over 4 years ago, we shopped at our local Kiddicare for absolutely everything from nursery equipment, to Mia’s buggy however it closed down around 2 years ago and as of yet, we haven’t been able to find a store that houses everything a child could possible need. Now we are pregnant with our 2nd child, we had already talked a few weeks ago about the fact that we don’t have a go-to store for preparing for our new arrival and we weren’t sure how we would shop like we did for Mia, as it was so handy to walk into Kiddicare and try out everything…

Bear Cub Bakers Book and Creating Our Own Delicious Cupcakes!

As a family we love baking and try and find time to bake once a week or so when we get chance. We often bake things that Mia can get involved in as she loves helping us doing the weighing, pouring and mixing so we normally create some tasty vanilla cupcakes we can all enjoy. As part of the Boolino Friends we are lucky enough to be sent some lovely books, our last one was The Great Farty Slob Beast which we really enjoyed and this month is the turn of The Bear Cub Bakers . The Bear Cub Bakers is a lovely rhyming story written by Caroline Baxter and…

Baby #2 Diary – The First Few Weeks

So, like when I was pregnant with Mia 5 years ago, I have decided to keep a Baby #2 Diary of my 2nd pregnancy to see how it’s the same or different to the first time! You can read all about us deciding to have another baby too. This first post is all about our experiences of early pregnancy up until our 1st scan date!   2nd April 2017: Today I took my pill for the last time in a while now! It’s been a tricky decision which I have previously written about however we will see what happens and go from there!   10th April: We are now a…

Its Official, Mia’s Going to be a Big Sister!

You will remember not long ago I wrote a post all about how we were trying to decide when we would begin trying for another baby and how we were really unsure of when (if any!) was the ‘best’ time to start trying. Mia was very much planned, even down to the Easter half term holidays I would leave my job as a Teaching Assistant to have her and if she hadn’t of been 4 days early, I would have enjoyed a bit more of the 2 weeks off! Fast forward 4 years and with Mia starting school in September we decided that it was as good a time as…

Snapshot of our Month – June

Welcome back to another Snapshot of our Month! These months are just flying by and I’m sure you will know by now that we had some big news last month…we are having another baby! Mia is really excited and although there is a long way to go, it’s an exciting time for all of us! So this month we have been doing quite a lot, the weather has been nicer (although that hasn’t been the case for the last few days!) so we have been going out a bit and spending time together as a family. We took a trip to one of our favourite places Rufford Abbey and fed…

Supporting Your Feet During Pregnancy with Souls Insoles

When I was pregnant with Mia just over 4 years ago, I didn’t really notice any issues with my feet or limbs however I do know that pregnancy puts a lot of strain on your body and now I’m pregnant again and now at aged 30, I don’t think it will be as plain sailing as it perhaps was last time round! I noticed that Souls Insoles were looking for pregnant women to try out their specially designed shoe insoles so I put us forward to give them a try! Souls Insoles have created lovely leather shoe insoles designed to fit in all shoes, boots, flip flops, and sandals. With…

Our Experiences of the Minefield that is the School Application Process!

We had heard about how tricky the school application process can be and as I worked in a school for 4 years, I had seen first-hand how difficult it can be to get your child into the school you want. However, when we came to apply for Mia’s school place for this September, I have to say, we were surprised at just how caught up you get in the whole process and how stressful it is waiting for that email or letter to land in your hands! We moved house partly to get Mia into the school I went to and worked at for so long and partly as we…
