‘Goodnight World’ Children’s Book

We are massive fans of books so when Boolino Books got in touch to see if we would like to join their Boolino Friends Program to do a book review, we were definitely interested! Boolino Books was launched in 2011 with the aim of being the global leading platform for children’s books and reading. It aims to be a comprehensive database of children’s books and recognises the importance of creating an emotional bond between children and their books. Their main aim includes getting children into the habit of reading from an early age and understands how this can impact children’s social and academic learning in a positive way. Being a Boolino Friend involves us being sent Children’s Book relevant to Mia and her age group in order to review them for other children just like Mia.

For our first ever Boolino Friends Program book we were sent ‘Goodnight World’ by Debi Gliori. I love a good hardback book and was so pleased when this one arrived! Aimed at 0-5 year olds, the book tackles the issue of bedtime and with its lovely illustrations and rhyming verse, helps to create the perfect tone for bedtime. The rhyming verse aims to help calm and comfort children at bedtime and we certainly find that rhyming books go down especially well for us!

Every child I know has gone through or is going through a phase where they need to say ‘goodnight’ to every object, no matter how small, before settling into bed and it does become an annoying part of the day however ‘Goodnight World’ helps to tackle this by containing a list of very important things to say goodnight to at the end of each day. I especially like reading the ending of this story as Mia loves, like any other child, knowing that Daddy and I are there for her whenever she needs us, even when she’s sleeping.

‘Goodnight World’ is a lovely story that really sets the tone for bedtime, rhyming books are great for bed and sleep as they create such a lovely atmosphere. Priced at £11.99 we really enjoyed looking at the lovely illustrations and reading all about the things we like to say goodnight to each night. I can’t wait to see what other books we are sent as part of the Boolino Friends Program.
